Secret Technique: Facial Transformation. I have no true face, you see.

—Tie Shan-shan, demonstrating his powers to Xuanzang before he knocks him out and takes his place.

Tie Shan-shan is a shapeshifting demon in the employ of Jin-long.

Appearance[]

Tie Shan-shan is a demon with no natural face, bt his default form is a shadowed out figure with long messy hair and sinister looking eyes. He also wears a black robe over his body, giving him a vague resemblance to Henshouki.

As a doctor, he takes the form of an elderly man with closed eyes, a horseshoe mustache, and a bald head who wears a long sleeved Changshan.

Personality[]

He is, for the most part, sinister and collected, as well as being clever and well aware of how dangerous Sora really is, devising a plan to get him to drop his guard by taking the guise of Xuanzang and further deceiving him by promising him to take him to the doctor to get his Ring of Carnal Denial removed, when in actuality, he was going to castrate him and retrieve the ring for his master Jin-long, although he was unprepared for Sora's indecisiveness, which ruined his plan.

Powers and Abilities[]

Techniques[]

  • Facial Transformation: Tie Shan-shan's signature ability. He is able to change his appearance to anything he wants to, even people who don't exist, but this ability has multiple weaknesses. The first one is that it requires a lot of energy to use, which will eventually result in him gaining viisble wrinkles on his face, and the second is that he needs to be completely calm to use it perfectly, as he can mess up when agitated, and the third is a conditional one, due to having only one body, it makes it difficult for him to perform in certain scenarios, such as Sora being indecisive over whether or not to take the anesthetic agent that he offered him, forcing him to shapeshift between his guise of Xuanzang and his doctor disguise.

History[]

Journey to the West Arc[]

Tie Shan-shan was the second of Jin-long's minions to attmept to retrieve the Ring of Carnal Denial from Sora, after the former ate Wu Yu-fei for failing him twice. He tailed Sora & co. all the way to the village where the Shangri-la Classical-style Image Club was located at, and snuck into Xuanzang's room to knock him out and disguised himself as the priest using his Facial Transformation technique.

He then proceeded to make his way over to Sora and manipulated him into isolating himself from his friends by claiming that he knew a doctor that could remove the Ring of Carnal Denial from him, when in actuality Tie Shan-shan was going to castrate Sora and steal the ring from him. However he did not account for Sora being incredibly indecisive, forcing him to change his face to the made-up doctor and the face of Xuanzang's, causing him to beat Sora up in revenge for irritating him and getting him to take the anesthetic.

However, it turns out that the anesthetic didn't affect Sora completely, causing him to be conscious, yet paralyzed, and Sora tricked Tie Shan-shan into changing his face for him until the anesthetic wore off, but the shapeshifter revealed that he knew what Sora was trying to do and that the anesthetic wasn't going to wear off as fast as the demon prince would like, and then decided to change his face to that of Sora's to instill fear in him, something that proved to be a mistake as he somehow ended up replicating Sora's looks wrongly according to the demon prince, causing the latter to ignore the effects of the anesthetic out of sheer rage, and furiously beat up Tie Shan-shan and defeat him.

Sora then escaped with Xuanzang and his two friends Gokaimaru and Takamatsu to continue on their journey, leaving Tie Shan-shan to be mistaken for Sora himself and being caught by the women running the Shangri-la Classical-style Image Club, and forced to work as a barker.
